Morphe x James Charles

Makeup is defined as “cosmetics such as lipstick or powder applied to the face, used to enhance or alter the appearance”. In today’s generation, mostly everyone uses some sort of enhancement. Whether it be as simple as mascara or even lipstick; makeup has truly become a popular trend in this society. With famous makeup influencers such as Jeffree Star, Bretman Rock, Jaclyn Hill, and Nikita Dragun, the makeup industry has truly flourished.

A lot of beauty influencers have their own partnerships and deals with companies where they are able to release their own products. One that comes to mind is James Charles. James Charles rose to fame after posting makeup tutorials on Youtube and became the first male ambassador for CoverGirl in 2016. He now has his own makeup line with Morphe that includes brushes, setting spray, and eyeshadow palettes.

I have chosen to advertise the James Charles Morphe palette. My social media post would be:

“With highly pigmented colors and a full spectrum of shades, the Morphe x James Charles Palette is for you. This palette was designed with makeup gurus of all levels in mind.

When James Charles says that you unleash your inner artist, he means it. #MorphexJamesCharles #ArtistryPalette #JamesCharles #Eyeshadow”

The reason I chose this message is because I believe it is the most clear and concise way to intrigue potential customers. Knowing that the palette was created with every skill level in mind could really influence more purchases. I would use the hashtag #MorphexJamesCharles because the makeup is a collaboration betweenJames Charles and Morphe. The hashtag #ArtistryPalette is used because it is the name of the eyeshadow palette and would help customers find it. #JamesCharles would be used so that anyone who is interested in James Charles would be able to easily locate it. The hashtag #Eyeshadow would be used so that anyone browsing eyeshadow palettes would run across this one.

The "R" Word.

RACISM. Look at me. I'm a black woman. I  was born a black woman and I will be a black woman until I  die. I  love my skin and I am comfortable in my skin (besides these extra pounds I've picked up... thanks quarantine). I  believe Black Lives Matter. I  think people should be allowed to date who they want. I    am pro-black. I  am also a black woman with a white best friend. Where It All Started Me and my best friend, Hannah, have been friends for about 13 years. We met in Mrs. Tisdale's third grade class and have been pretty much stuck like glue since. We've cried together, been in trouble together, snuck out together (sorry mama and Mrs. Kim), had disagreements, and fights but our friendship has never quavered.  We grew up attending Vincent Middle High School, a small 2A school about 30 miles outside of Birmingham,AL (You know, one of those towns where EVERYBODY knows EVERYBODY'S business 😒) I'll be the first to say that Hanna...

You know, one of those weeks where you are not mentally where you want to b e, your physical healt h is pretty sucky, or when you just need a break from life and  all  things ass ociated with it. Unfortunately, I've been definitely experiencing one of those week. I  woke up Sunday feeling pretty icky and instantly though, OH NO! I was experiencing a runny nose, headache, dry cough, and just felt really weak. I went home for the weekend and knew I    was in no shape to drive back to campus. I went back to campus Monday evening and woke up Tuesday morning to g o to my universities Student Health Center. In the times of COVID-19, I  w as prettyyyyyy sure I  had caught it and very bummed. I     got tested and it was NEGATIVE!! I    definitely was happy about that but NOT about the sinus infection they diagnosed me with. All in all though, I  am bl...
